Installing CoolRunner-II CPLD Starter Kit -- CSC400-Circuit Design F2011
System Requirements
- Windows XP, Windows Vista (32-bit), or Windows 7 (32-bit)
- Internet Connection
Installing on Windows XP
- Insert CoolRunner-II CPLD Starter Kit Resource CD into computer's CD drive.
- An internet browser window should pop up automatically with the Xilinx CoolRunner-II page.
- Click on the Software Install - CoolRunner-II Utility Window (exe) link:
- When the Opening CR-II UW Setup.exe window appears, click on Save File:
- Once the setup executable files has been fully downloaded. Navigate to the folder containing your downloaded file (titled CR-II UW Setup).
- Double click on the file and follow the installation instructions and use default settings.
- Once installation has completed, connect the LCD module to ports J3 and J4 on the CoolRunner-II and connect your CoolRunner-II to your computer using the USB (Do NOT use a USB hub).
- Press BTN0 to reset the counter and LCD.
- Go to Start --> All Programs --> Digilent --> Tools --> CoolRunner-II Utility Window.
- Press the Start button in the Utility Window. Move SW0. If everything was installed correctly, you should see a power reduction in the utility window.
Installing on Windows Vista/7 (32-bit)
- Insert CoolRunner-II CPLD Starter Kit Resource CD into computer's CD drive.
- When the AutoPlay pops up, click on Run autorun.exe:
- An internet browser window should pop up with the Xilinx CoolRunner-II page.
- Click on the Software Install - CoolRunner-II Utility Window (exe) link:
- When the File Download window appears, click on Save:
- Once the setup executable files has been fully downloaded. Navigate to the folder containing your downloaded file (titled CR-II UW Setup).
- Double click on the file and follow the installation instructions and use default settings.
